BeFTP v2.2: FTP Client Adds Uploads, Command Line, & More

BlackBerry-FTP BeFTP is essentially a free FTP client created by the find developers at BEIKS. The program has quite a bit of functionality but it has some limitations in its free version. The main limitation is that it will not remember your connection information after you close the application. This makes the free version good for infrequent FTP-ing but if you need to pick up a commercial license which remembers connections you can for $10.

BeFTP has been out for awhile now but the latest version 2.2 adds a few features that I thought were noteworthy:

  • Upload functionality
  • Folder download
  • Manual FTP command line execution
  • Wi-Fi and other connection modes

The reason the application is free is because it is offered to help you download commercial dictionaries and such for BEIKS applications. They were kind enough to open it up to others on a limited basis. The application only really works over regular FTP so SFTP is out. It also cannot resume uploads and downloads which is a bummer. I really wish Rove Mobile had left their free FTP application for all to use…

You can pickup BeFTP free at this link OTA or you can purchase a license at this link if necessary.
