UPDATE: BBBoy brought it to my attention that this build may break more things than it fixes so you may want to hold off on installing it! Supposedly this latest version can screw up your calendar, make the icon dissapear, continue spamming your friends for phone number requests, may screw up your AIM connection, and just plain give you the finger… Great quality job on this one RIM
but I guess it is better than a “shake the baby” app.
Quite a few people who downloaded Facebook 1.5.0.31 when it came out were rightfully peeved at the calendar and request friends number bug that came with the update. Ju let me know that RIM has fixed these bug in this latest version of Facebook 1.5.0.32. It will now not change your default calendar to Facebook so your themes will be find and requesting a friends number is optional now.
You can pick up the update at:
www.blackberry.com/instantmessaging
or directly at
www.blackberry.com/facebook
The main problem is that those of us who downloaded the original 1.5.0.31 will not have our calendars fixed automatically with the new update. You will need to go to Options>Advanced Options>Default Services and change the calendar from Facebook to your normal default calendar.

I am running the newest version 1.5.0.32 and it is still requesting my friend’s phone number when I connect their FB account to my contact file in my BB. can’t I rturn this off since I already have their phone info?

No offense, but it is absolutely irresponsible and insane of you to post about this latest update without mentioning the NUMEROUS problems that have been reported about it, including:
- The FB icon disappearing…How are you supposed to launch the program?
- The total borking of people’s calendars
- Continued spamming of your friends asking them for their phone numbers
This update of an update is a total MESS and you guys have missed the boat.

Oh yeah add another one: users of AIM for Blackberry report that it borks their AIM connections too.

You are right Papped. I have not tried it myself yet since my Bold is undergoing repairs by me today
I am on my older 8310 today…
I did not hear about all these bugs I just assumed that RIM would fix more bugs than they would introduce in a bug fix build. Guess I assumed wrong…
I will update the post to reflect your concerns. Let me know if they get fixed!

Thanks for updating it…This particular update threw my 8830 for a big loop and it was frustrating to to have to try to fix it. Some things, like the calendar, I’m still not sure are back to normal. (My solution was “downgrading” to 1.5.31)
Best wishes to all!

I’m not sure if you’ve noticed, but most of the apps posted as updates are just “supposed changes” unless it’s a review…
It’s an update post, not a 1.5.0.32 thorough examination.

I have an 8900 and I did not experience any of the pro lems listed here for v31. I am not going to install v32 just yet. Any other 8900 users out there with issues?

I am thoroughly PO’d by this app. Once I found out that it was this that was prevently me from updating my calendar, I removed it. I am a FB nerd, but doubt that I will be installing .32, .33, .4, 2.0, or any ‘imminent’ release. Not worth the headache. Junk software.

the .32 fix doesn’t fix it. If you go and delete the Facebook CICAL, it returns as soon as you reboot the device.
And when you try to sync up after deleting the FB CICAL, the sync process skips over the calendar all together . . . so my device doesn’t/won’t sync up with Outlook . . .
Any working suggestions?
