Verizon Offers Easy Way to Add Russian, Hebrew, & Arabic to 8130 & 8330 Running OS 4.5

hebrewalphabetA bit back we told you about an easy way to add Hebrew font support to your BlackBerry offered by Cheservices. Most of the requests for Hebrew, Russian, & Arabic support seem to come from Verizon users so I thought it is worthy to mention that Verizon has offered an official solution. If you have OS 4.5 on your 8130 or 8330 you should be able to download Hebrew, Russian, & Arabic support to your BlackBerry from this link OTA. The download is designed for the official OS 4.5.0.77 specifically but it should work on other OS versions for those devices.

    Ironically, just yesterday I installed 4.5.0.138 (the Telus release) and had to put Hebrew back and used the “old” method. But I did this just to try it out now and it works fine.

    I downloaded the patch… how do I “activate” it or get it to let me select Russian when I hit Alt+Enter. Thanks in advance!
