Verizon Finally Posts 8830 OS 4.5.0.138 Online

verizon88304dot5 For a few days now Verizon has been pushing downloads of OS 4.5.0.138 for the 8830 through desktop upgrades. This does not work for everybody and can get annoying for BES administrators or people with corporate BlackBerrys who have such upgrades blocked or disallowed by policy. Now the OS is officially available so you can march right down to your IT department and ask for them to upgrade your aging 8830 to a Storm OS 4.5.0.138. :)

    And here I just looked this morning and there was no upgrade shown.
    I’ve been running .138 for a while (Sprint release I think?) but maybe now that its officially supported perhaps the disappearing BBM contacts issue will be fixed?

    I am running 4.5.0.138 on my Curve 8330 (A Telus official release. DO NOT try intalling the OS mentioned in this article on your Curve!) and I find it humorous that Verizon makes the version official for the 8830 but not the 8330. Verizon is so slow, its laughable.

    I installed it. Works great! Fixed the bugs that were bugging me from the previous beta version that I was using 4.5.0.101 i think it was.
    The previous version would not play videos full screen was the biggest issue that I had with 4.5.0.101
    I’m very happy with the upgrade. no issue during installation.
