AT&T always had their own WAP store for the BlackBerry with outdated themes and ringtones. Over the weekend I got a new icon annoyingly pushed to my BlackBerry for the new AT&T Media Mall 2.0. This is not the App World or the App Center. Rather AT&T decided to create their own version of a buggy app/theme/ringtone store… They have their own overpriced ringtones along with what looks like Bplay themes and games. Who really pays $2.49 for a ringtone? The app does have some cool effects but overall it is really slow and buggy. I just don’t get why they needed to put huge pixilated ads on the top of each categories page. I am not quite sure how I feel about AT&T’s take on a app store. What do you think?
I could not find the main download link but if you are on AT&T with a Bold this is the OTA link that they gave me for my Bold.

I have to agree. Who buys ringtones, anyway? When you can use any MP3 for a ringtone, and you can google just about any kind of sound on the internet, why would you pay a couple of bucks for it?

Lot’s of people pay for ringtones (because they are idiots).
They are the same people that keep jamster in business because they text 48573 while seeing a commercial during American Idol then get stuck with $9.99/month on their cellphone bill for the next 4 months while they try and figure out how to get it off of there.
I bet if they threw Google Maps in there for $2.99, there would be some people that would pay for it.

This has actually been around for about a month now I think, though this is a slightly newer version than I had before. Also the same version also works on unlocked 8900′s that a lot of us are running on AT&T.

Shows how often I check Sovak. Did you ever find anything useful in the media mall?

Not really no. Seems to be the same stuff as the wap site. I actually found it when the service books sent the download link to my 8900. Added it to my Bold with the link you gave.
And Like the others here I wont pay absorbent fees form y ringtones that I can’t even move to a different phone if I want.
