We announced here, 10 days ago, that OS version 4.7.0.122 for the 9530 Storm had been leaked by Bell and we linked to a Megaupload source. If you didn’t get it then because you don’t feel comfortable with these shady, unofficial downloads, here is the official release by Bell.
Thanks for the tip, George!
Our usual warnings apply: do not download and install these updates if you don’t know what you’re doing. Incorrect procedure or just bad luck could render your BlackBerry inoperative or unstable.

I have upgraded with each beta an I must say that the .122 upgrade is by far the most functional. It approximates the functionality that one would expect if the phone had been released now instead of 4 months prematurely. There was great pressure to release a phone that was purportedly a competitor to the Apple iPhone before Xmas. They perhaps should have taken a page out of the Earnest and Julio Gallo playbook…. “No wine before its time…”. The .113 Beta screws up the keyboard in portrait position and when making a call and trying to get the phone number pad gives you only an alpha keyboard. Big mistake to roll out .113!!!!

I got the file downloaded. Usually I run the EXE and then start the desktop manager. It then goes into the update process. However this time, it says everything is up to date already. The BB does not have the latest version. I tried removed the EXE and re installing, rebooting, you name it, and it still says the BB is already up to date.

That sounds like you didn’t delete the vendor.xml file. Please try that.

It’s more responsive, but nothing to write home about. Possibly now almost how it should have been launched. A missed opportunity to make some real improvements. Took them 5months too. What were they doing? Oh, must have been the green outline on the browser GO button
