It perpetually stays in the 3MB-5MB range for available memory, and all I have running on it are my essential add-on apps (Pocket Informant, Mobipocket, BBSmart Alarms Pro, Viigo, Windows Live Search, and a couple of web shortcuts). All told, even if my device allotted 1MB for each of these apps -- and they all are less than 1MB download size -- I should still have plenty of available memory. However, due to the persistent memory leak on this model and other similar models, I can never seem to get my available memory to stay above 5MB, and it often dips to zero, requiring a battery pull. In any event, I wouldn't call my 8830 an "OLD" or "Out of date" model. But it is plagued by memory issues, to be sure. So 600K... no thanks! My “Out of Date” BlackBerry is an 8830 running OS 4.5.
