BlackBerry App World v1.0.0.28 Released: No Change Log

7 Comments »

Capture12_55_1 It looks like RIM has updated BlackBerry App World yet again for some unknown reason. I guess they really are scrambling to fix the bugs and connectivity troubles many users are having. This new version supposedly brings support to users who were having trouble connecting even if they are on a US, UK, or Canadian carrier.

You can pickup the new download at mobile.blackberry.com or by going to www.blackberry.com/appworld. I find it kind of funny that the App World does not auto update or even notify you about the update since it does that for all the applications you install through it.

Thanks Dalton & Corey for sending this one in!

PS: Anybody else notice that 24 of the top 25 applications in the App World are free?

  1. I have updated both the App World and the OS for the Bold and still get the issue. Deleted the Desktop [IPPP] and lost my play list for the media player, so im pissed about that.

    Still get the same error as shown above, FYI.

    You’re surprised? If App World was tunes, the Top 25 would be littered with $.99 crapware. People are cheap. Everyone is trying out App World so I suspect “free” stuff will rule the roost until more folks are comfortable with it.

    My question is when does App World role into the core OS??? RIM needs it to Be prominent on every device sold if its going to be successful.

  3. Its good 4 starters
    Great going

    People aren’t being cheap. They just don’t want to pay $5 or $6 for a theme that should only be $.99. There’s plenty of software out there that people want us to pay so much money for that aren’t worth it.

    @Phreqd:
    There aren’t themes in App World, $.99 or otherwise.

  6. Can someone please post if they have fixed this issue?
