Quickplay PrimeTime2Go to Bring TV Shows To Bold & 8900 Soon

We heard rumors that a TV application for BlackBerry was coming soon but I was hoping that it would come from RIM. Turns out that Quickplay is releasing an application soon called PrimeTime2Go that will let you view NBC, CBS, & MTV full length episodes on your BlackBerry very soon. They plan to put it in the App World and announce it fully soon.

The new service will be a monthly subscription charge of $7.99 for its PrimeTime2Go service. The problem is that it will only work over Wi-Fi and only on the Bold and 8900. They will be supporting AT&T and T-Mobile Bold’s and 8900’s only which is surprising since they are a Canadian company…

Personally I am partial to subscription models and would rather just pay when I watch but I guess that is a matter of opinion. I wont hold my hopes up high for Quickplay being the be-all-end-all of media for BlackBerry since they seem to have a history of underwhelming services.

So they want to sell you something you can only use at home on WiFi? Why not just watch TV?

If it worked over 3G, and I could watch stuff anywhere, maybe.

  3. I believe you can DOWNLOAD the episodes only over WiFi, so you can watch anywhere … besides, that would make more sense…. Nowhere is it saying they’re offering a STREAMING service ….
