We let you know a few details about Skype for BlackBerry a bit back but the latest news off the wire is a bit more promising. So far they are actually calling it a BlackBerry client and not just a generic J2ME client which is a step forward. They did not release as many details about the BlackBerry app as the iPhone app which will have audio calls over Wi-Fi and maybe video too. Not sure how that would work since you would have to be looking at the front and back of the phone at the same time…
The only other tidbit I found interesting is that the client will be free. I am just waiting to see if this will implement true VOIP over data or it will just be another dial-around or call-back Skype application.
