T-Mobile USA Launches 3G webConnect USB Laptop Card
T-Mobile is finally catching up with the rest of the US carriers with their step into 3G and their webConnect USB laptop card. The problem is that they seem to have forgotten that they are the low cost carrier… They are trying to charge the same $59.99/month rate for 5GB that Verizon & AT&T charge. The difference is that Verizon and AT&T have much better coverage making T-Mobile look a bit out of its element. They should at least be offering an introductory price until their 3G network is fully rolled out… As a conciliation prize you are also getting access to their T-Mobile HotSpot network but that is no help when you are stuck with EDGE in many areas.
In case you are still interested the webConnect USB Laptop Stick is $49.99 with a 2-year contract after rebate or $99.99 with 1-year contract. The price with no contract is $249.99. There is also the ability to put 8GB of memory on the stick but I never really saw the point other than having the install files handy.
