Ifbyphone Launches Semi-Free Conference Calling & Voice Broadcasting App

Developer: ifByPhone Cost: Free

ifbyphone Ifbyphone let me know that they have released a new conference calling and voice broadcasting application for BlackBerry. The new app lets you use Ifbyphone’s network to initiate conference calls or voice broadcasts from your address book. You can already setup conference calls from your BlackBerry free but I guess that can get annoying when you need to invite 3+ people into a conference. They also have a cool voice broadcast option that lets you send an immediate or delayed voice message to multiple contacts.

I call Ifbyphone “Semi-Free” since you get 100 free minutes a month just by signing up so its free until you use those. I can see myself using it for voice broadcasting a few times a month and staying under that limit.

To use the new application’s conference-calling function, a BlackBerry user creates a list of participants from among his or her stored contacts and can then initiate an impromptu conference call immediately or schedule a future call, all with one click. Similarly, to use the voice-broadcasting function, the user creates a list of recipients and records a voice message for immediate or future delivery.
