Corey let me know that RIM has put up a notification/signup page for the Ticketmaster app RIM told us about back in September. They are taking their sweet time to release this app but I guess there are reasons for it as you can see below. I just love how the BlackBerry is the “Official smartphone of Ticketmaster.” What the hell does that even mean?
Not much new in terms of details but there are a few interesting facts:
- The app will let you access event, concert, game, & theater tickets
- You can browse event listings, select your seats, and buy tickets
- It works with BlackBerry Wallet to fill in your credit card and shipping information
- As the official smartphone of Ticketmaster, your BlackBerry smartphone can also be your connection to advanced or reserved tickets as well as special events, rewards and fantastic promotions.

so I guess the new ticket price will include a $30 service charge per ticket to be the “official smartphone of ticketmaster” …
