BBTiVo Frank let me know that his team has released a new application called Wonderful Remote. Frank laat het me weten dat zijn team een nieuwe aanvraag heeft vrijgegeven genoemd Wonderful Remote. For a relatively cheap $2.99 this application lets you control your TiVo from your BlackBerry over Wi-Fi. Voor een relatief goedkope 2,99 dollar deze applicatie kun je de controle TiVo vanaf uw BlackBerry via Wi-Fi. Not sure why this is limited only to working over Wi-Fi but I am sure there is a reason. Weet u niet zeker waarom dit is beperkt tot werken via Wi-Fi, maar ik weet zeker dat er een reden. (My guess is latency) So far it supports the Bold, 8900 Curve, & 8350i Curve and works with TiVo-HD and Series3 devices. (Mijn gok is latentie) Tot nu toe het ondersteunt de Stoute, 8900 Curve, & 8350i Curve en werkt met TiVo-HD en Series3 apparaten.

From what I can tell it lets you use your BlackBerry as a mouse and keyboard for your TiVo. Van wat ik kan vertellen kunt u uw BlackBerry te gebruiken als een muis en toetsenbord voor je TiVo.     Thanks for the write up. Bedankt voor de schrijf-up. The Curve 8320 is now supported and we'll be adding support for the 8820 this weekend. De Curve 8320 wordt nu ondersteund en we zijn het toevoegen van ondersteuning voor de 8820 dit weekend.
    Wonderful Remote connects directly to your TiVo via its telnet remote control interface over your local area network. Wonderful afstand maakt rechtstreeks verbinding met uw TiVo via de telnet interface afstandsbediening via uw lokale netwerk. This is why wifi is currently required. Dit is de reden waarom wifi op dit moment nodig is. We are currently assessing the option of supporting devices without wifi, this would involve users running a gateway service on their home PC's to relay commands from the cell phone network to the TiVo on their home network. We zijn momenteel de beoordeling van de mogelijkheid van ondersteuning van apparaten zonder wifi, zou dit te betrekken gebruikers die een gateway service op hun eigen PC's aan opdrachten relais van het GSM-netwerk naar de TiVo op hun thuisnetwerk.

    Looks like a cool program. Ziet eruit als een cool programma. It'd be great if you could see what's on the BlackBerry. Het zou fantastisch zijn als je kon zien wat er op de BlackBerry. FYI…you can't see a thing on the BB screen of that video. FYI ... je niet kunt zien een ding over het BB-scherm van die video.

    Tivo probably limits remote access to the local subnet so wifi is the only option unless you mess around with address translation for inbound connections, something that is not supported in the average consumer grade Internet router. Tivo waarschijnlijk beperkt toegang op afstand tot het lokale subnet WiFi is dus de enige optie, tenzij je rotzooi rond met het adres vertaling voor inkomende verbindingen, iets dat niet wordt ondersteund in de gemiddelde consument rang internet-router.

    I would of course encourage you to download the app and try it out. Ik zou natuurlijk raden u aan om de app te downloaden en uit te proberen. There is a 48 hour trial period where you can use it for free. Er is een proefperiode van 48 uur waar je het kunt gebruiken voor gratis.

    It would be possible to run a service on a PC on the same subnet as the TiVo then have that service open a port on the home router via upnp, or open a bidirectional connection to a web service that your bb would relay messages through. Het zou mogelijk zijn om een dienst te draaien op een PC op hetzelfde subnet als de TiVo hebben dan deze dienst een poort openen op de home-router via UPnP, of open een bidirectionele verbinding met een web service die uw bb berichten zou relais door. I am thinking about prototyping this but I'm concerned about latency, as you'd be going bb -> bis/bes -> wonderful remote web service -> home network gateway/relay service -> tivo. Ik denk aan dit prototype, maar ik ben bezorgd over latency, zoals je zou worden bb gaan -> bis / bes -> prachtige afgelegen web service -> eigen netwerk gateway / relay dienst -> TiVo.

    A proxy would work but I bet latency will be a killer as well. Een proxy zou werken, maar ik wed latentie zal een moordenaar ook. I got a VZW broadband card and I sometimes get 1 sec latency according to XP ping. Ik heb een VZW breedband-kaart en ik soms 1 sec latency volgens XP ping. That's worse than some satellite links I've used. Dat is nog erger dan sommige satellietverbindingen ik heb gebruikt. Add that to all those hops you listed and well… I guess you get serious delays. Voeg dat aan al die hop je opgesomd en goed ... ik denk dat je ernstige vertragingen.

    If you got a linux machine lying around you can set up xinetd to be a TCP proxy for port 31339 without having to code your own. Als je een Linux machine rondslingeren U kunt maximaal xinetd als een proxy voor TCP-poort 31339 zonder uw eigen code.
