Stacy at GigaOm was kind enough to round up the Q4 numbers for the top 4 US carriers. I think it tells you quite a bit about where your carrier stands and how they rank so I thought I would share.
Total subscribers:
- AT&T - 77 million
- Verizon - 72.1 million
- Sprint - 49.3 million
- T-Mobile - 32.8 million
Added Subscribers:
- AT&T – 2.1 million
- Verizon - 1.2 million
- T-Mobile – ~600,000
- Sprint – LOSS -1.4 million
You can get some more details if you want at GigaOm. I personally found it a great read.

A lot of new storm owners seem to be first time bb users.
Verizon sold a millon of em, anybody think the storm helped hurt sprint?

Practically every new phone hurts Sprint. They decide to restructure on things like CS, yet do nothing to fix the fact that they end up being a year or so behind on BB’s.

The VZW purchase of Alltel (completed in January 2009) now makes Verizon the largest wireless carrier in the United States, with more than 83.7 million customers. Most of Verizon’s new customers are in the Midwest and South, where Alltel operates.
