At the launch of our BlackBerry Software Directory two weeks ago we mentioned that improvements are on the way. The goal of the directory is to make it easier for new and veteran BlackBerry users to easily discover great BlackBerry software. The first task in that vein was user submitted ratings and I am glad to say we are on target. You can now rate your favorite and least favorite software in the directory on a scale of 0 stars to 5 stars. Its as simple as clicking on the star rating you wish to give and you are done!
Check it out at the link below and tell your friends!

Rating for each item in the directory:
You can also view and rate software from each main category page of the directory.
Keep an eye out for more improvements as time goes on. We will also be adding user ratings to our BlackBerry Theme Directory soon. Just to give you an idea, here’s what we have in mind for the software directory next: (in no specific order)
- Mobile version of the directory – duh!
- Allow submissions of applications to the directory (use the contact form for now).
- Ability to filter and sort based on attributes – to help you find free and cheap applications.
- Popularity: check how popular an application is.
- Add a directory specific search (right now, the search is site-wide).
- Add an RSS feed for the directory and specific categories.
- Add other categories: business solutions, mobile services, etc.
Let us know if you can think of anything else!

I would like to point out that some apps are listed as being free that are not. myCallLogs is listed as being free but costs $6.95 in the store and RepliGo Reader is not free.

Thanks for catching that Curti. Human error on my part. Trying to automate it but it is not working yet…

@bba
I am currently working on the mobile version of the directory. It will now load which is an improvement but it does not look good since I have not mobilized the styles… All in good time
