bit.lify – Adds bit.ly URL Shortening To BlackBerry Browser

Developer: Ubiquitous Systems Cost: Free

The company behind SocialScope, Ubiquitous Systems, released a fun little utility that Nate let me know about. It lets you shorten URLs from the BlackBerry browser using Bit.ly (think TinyURL). Not sure how useful this will be since it does not take any more effort to copy and paste the real URL into an email but it may work for SMS.

This seems to be more of a cool idea rather than a crucial utility but its free so you cannot argue with that. You can install it free OTA at this link or read more at this link.

  1. I personally find this a pretty useful app, even if I don’t use SMS much at all. I’d rather send these small urls than a big long honking one. App works great!

  2. I just installed this, works beautifully with the twitterberry.
    Congrats!!
