All you guys running 4.2 that aren't offered an upgrade via this tool, get thee to blackberry.com and download the official 4.5 release from Sprint for 8830. Install it on you PC, delete the vendor.xml, and using loader.exe (same dir as vendor.xml) do the upgrade. 4.5 is SO worth it from 4.2 even if its not an official Telus or Verizon release its too good not to do it!

I too have the 4.2 Verizon and, alas, no update. My jobsite will not allow camera phones and I get crap service from AT&T at home. Oh well. Maybe if I pull the battery, seems to make everything else work better...

Didn't work with my 8830 on Telus network

I am pretty sure the application reads what carrier your with and looks to see if that carrier has an official update.. which Telus does not (damn now I wish I was with bell)

I just tried with my Verizon 8830 running 4.2 and there were no updates available through the above website nor the Verizon website :(

Not too worried about it. Thinking about getting a Curve next month for my new every 2.
