Storm & Bold Get Telescopic Zoom Accessory

Sorry guys this stuff just makes me chuckle. Luc let me know that Brando.com.hk has a telescopic zoom accessory for the Storm and Bold. Just looking at pictures of it will make you wonder who the hell would ever buy such a thing. If you are already carrying something so awkward you may as well carry a regular camera. If you want to play secret spy then this is just screaming amateur… It kind of reminds me of something I would find at the bottom of a cereal box. :)

So would you be caught dead with one of these attached to your device?

If so you can pick up the Storm version at this link and the Bold version at this link for $17 each.

  1. I was wondering how that eve stays on the BB? And if a spy actually used this he probably get shot even before he got a chance to take a pic

I saw one of these for a Nokia a while back. It came with a plastic semi-case that clips on the cell and then the lens attachment locks in to that with a half or quarter turn. From the links this seems similar (right down to the 6x zoom).

I don’t know how well they work, but for the price it might be worth a try. Keep in mind most pocket cameras have only 3-4 times optical zoom before they turn to digital zoom (which degrades picture quality), and it allows your BB to be a more convergent device and replace a digital camera (if this actually works well – I don’t know how much light the zoom lens cuts out and who knows how it reacts to camera shake).

  3. Seems like the main concern is how the pictures come out. I can’t see this being useful for that many people though.
