takeoff When I read this news bit over on Gizmodo it made me laugh. Toen ik lees dit nieuws iets meer dan op Gizmodo het maakte me aan het lachen. I always get a bit angry when I have to turn off all my electronic devices during takeoff. Ik krijg altijd een beetje boos als ik het uitschakelen van al mijn elektronische apparaten tijdens het opstijgen. It was always assumed that any electronic device could interfere with the very delicate takeoff and landing process. Er werd altijd aangenomen dat een elektronisch apparaat kunnen interfereren met de zeer delicate opstijgen en landen proces. Turns out that pilots have not been drinking the same Kool-Aid. Blijkt dat piloten niet dezelfde Kool-Aid gedronken.

The FAA has told the airlines to order their pilots to turn off their phones. De FAA heeft verteld de luchtvaartmaatschappijen om hun piloten uit te schakelen hun telefoons. This came after a inspector reported that a first officers cell phone rang during a critical phase of a takeoff. Dit kwam na een inspecteur gemeld dat een eerste officieren mobiele telefoon rinkelde tijdens een kritieke fase van een opstijging. The reason the FAA is all wrapped up is because a cellphone is distracting during a pilots takeoff. De reden van de FAA is alles ingepakt is, omdat een mobiele telefoon is afleidt tijdens een piloten opstijgen. Kind of makes me wonder why they don't seem to be spitting the party line of cellphones disturbing communications… Kind of makes me af waarom ze niet lijken te spuwen de partij lijn van mobiele telefoons verontrustende communicatie ...

I am surprised that that companies have not tried to start a lucrative business of getting their devices to be approved for use during takeoff and landing. Ik ben verbaasd dat die bedrijven niet hebben geprobeerd om een lucratieve business op het krijgen van hun apparaten beginnen te worden goedgekeurd voor gebruik tijdens het opstijgen en landen. I am not sure if the FAA would let it fly but just imagine if your iPod was cleared and not required to be turned off? Ik ben niet zeker of de FAA zou laten vliegen, maar bedenk eens als je iPod gewist en was niet te worden uitgeschakeld? It could be kind of like the TSA approved locks and bags. Het kan zijn soort als de TSA sloten en tassen goedgekeurd.

    Flying from Maui to LA on Wednesday (18-Feb) night… the pilot or co-pilot got on the horn to talk about the flight while taxing to the runway. Vliegen vanaf Maui naar LA op woensdag (18-feb) nacht ... de piloot of co-piloot kreeg op de hoorn te praten over de vlucht, terwijl de belastingheffing op de landingsbaan. During which I could hear that typical speaker buzz that you get when a GSM phone is near by. Tijdens die ik kon horen dat typische spreker gezoem dat je krijgt als een GSM-telefoon is dichtbij. LOL… LOL ...
