MiaWallpaper Out Of Beta – Automatically Change Your Storm Background With Flickr Images

Developer: BerryBlow Cost: $2.99

miawallpaper Tashanna let me know that MiaWallpaper is now out of beta. We mentioned it a bit back while it was in beta and the app looks pretty rounded out now. It lets you pick a public Flickr photo stream and have your background automatically change at a set interval. It also lets you choose a local directory to grab images from but I think the Flickr tie in is the best part.

Sadly the application is limited to the Storm due to RIM only opening the API necessary for this in OS 4.7. On the other hand the $2.99 price tag is just right in my opinion. You can pick it up in the store at this link and there is a 10 day trial available there.

Features list:

  • Efficient algorithm updates the Home Screen wallpapers – save your battery life with MiaWallpaper
  • Works with all picture formats supported by BlackBerry
  • Use photos from the Internet – use Flickr public photostream – always new photos, Internet data connection is required
  • Use local photos, specify folder you want to use or select using any folders
  • Specify update interval from 1, 5, 10, 30 minutes and 1 hour
  • Works when the device is locked as a background process
  • Resizes photos to BlackBerry device Home Screen height and width

  1. I’ve tried it out…it’s sluggish to respond to commands when attempting to make changes to the settings and it would be nice if you could define which photo stream the pictures are coming from.

I don’t think I’ll be keeping this one, great concept…just needs more flexibility.
