googlemapslatitude Wow this was a long time coming. Wow dit was een lange tijd wachten. Quite a few of you sent in tips letting me know about the update in the 3.0.2 version of Google Maps we mentioned. Heel wat van u verzonden in tips laat het me weten over de update in de 3.0.2 versie van Google Maps wij genoemd. Turns out this small version bump adds GPS support for the Verizon Storm and other devices that have their GPS locked down. Blijkt dat deze kleine versie hobbel voegt GPS-ondersteuning voor de Verizon Storm en andere apparaten die hun GPS vergrendeld.

Just as a reminder these incompatibilities are caused by Verizon, RIM, & Google. Net als een herinnering deze onverenigbaarheden worden veroorzaakt door Verizon, RIM, en Google. Google Maps use to try to get your location using AGPS (Assisted GPS) and was blocked by Verizon. Google Maps gebruiken om te proberen uw locatie te krijgen met AGPS (Assisted GPS) en werd geblokkeerd door Verizon. It did not fallback and try regular GPS which is how BlackBerry Maps and other apps work. Het heeft niet fallback en probeer regelmatig GPS dat is de manier waarop BlackBerry Maps en andere apps werken. Personally I think most of the blame falls on RIM's feet for helping Verizon block the AGPS knowing what problems it would cause… Persoonlijk denk ik het grootste deel van de schuld valt op poten RIM's voor het helpen van Verizon blokkeert de AGPS weten wat problemen zou veroorzaken ...

You can pick up the latest version of Google Maps on your Storm at the link below in case you were holding out for a change log. U kunt kiezen om de nieuwste versie van Google Maps op uw Storm op de onderstaande link voor het geval u hielden uit voor een change log. This is probably as good as it is going to get. Dit is waarschijnlijk zo goed als het gaat krijgen.

    Will someone please give the steps needed to use google maps on my verizon curve? Kan iemand geef de stappen die nodig zijn om Google Maps te gebruiken op mijn verizon curve? My gps is enabled, blackberry maps works fine, but gmaps only seems to use the tower method. Mijn GPS is ingeschakeld, BlackBerry Maps prima werkt, maar alleen GMaps lijkt de toren methode te gebruiken. Even this latest version doesn't do it. Zelfs deze nieuwste versie doet het niet. What am I missing? What am I missing?

    vzw 8330 4.5 gps not working with GoogleMaps standing still I'm bouncing around by Miles! vzw 8330 4,5 gps niet werkt met GoogleMaps stil Ik ben rond stuiteren door Miles!

    Gmaps can only get GPS on the Storm, no other Verizon Blackberry. Gmaps kan alleen GPS krijgen op de storm, geen andere Verizon Blackberry. And is unlikely to ever be able. En is het onwaarschijnlijk dat ooit in staat zijn. Its just life. Its just leven.

    This whole GPS versus AGPS is silly. Dit hele GPS versus AGPS is dwaas. AGPS has such little practical use IMO. AGPS heeft zo weinig praktisch nut IMO. Who is in such a hurry they can't wait the extra 30 or so seconds? Wie is in zo'n haast ze kan niet wachten de extra 30 seconden of zo?

    Note to Curve users: Google Maps does not have access to the system's GPS since Verizon, in partnership with RIM, blocks it. Opmerking voor gebruikers Curve: Google Maps heeft geen toegang tot het GPS-systeem sinds Verizon, in partnerschap met RIM, blokkeert het. Google Maps can still detect your approximate location using the cell tower system that is used by 911.     Recently, Verizon unblocked GPS for the BlackBerry Maps only application only. Onlangs Verizon gedeblokkeerd GPS voor de BlackBerry Maps enige applicatie alleen. Google Maps is still blocked.     Another thing to note is that the GPS tends to have trouble detecting your location when you are indoors.
