After you direct connect, you get the icon at the top of the screen near the time. To clear it you need to go into the history and go into that direct connect item to clear it. How can you make it so no icon appears?

I actually tried it on streets where I wasn't that close to buildings, it should have worked. My friend with him iPhone GPS stood next to me and his worked fine. Plus, I know the GPS on other Blackberry's with AT&T work great in the same area.

So I got to thinking maybe this is a defective handset. But I got another comment from someone else in a big city saying that it absolutely never worked for them either. So it just seems like there is no reason for the GPS not to work and yet it doesn't.

Curious if you had a bad device? Were you able to try the GPS outside of the jungle where there is clear view of the sky?
