QuickLaunch: the Storm App Launcher RIM Forgot

Developer: NikkiSoft Cost: $4.99

QLmake-call140 Erik let me know about a small but powerful app he developed for the Storm called QuickLaunch. The utility simply displays a configurable scrollable popup menu from anywhere on the screen from which you can launch quite a few functions such as speed dialer, email/SMS addresses, images, videos, 3rd party apps, device info, memory cleaner, delete call logs and more.

Pretty cool for an app that is just going for $4.99. On the other hand, it makes me wonder why RIM did not include an application like this with the Storm in the first place…

Check it out in the store at this link

  1. works great…but only downside that i see so far is that you can’t customize the list to include all of your applications (the program only allows you to select from a list). :(

  2. QuickLaunch 1.3.1 is available on the BerryReview store.
    upgrade from 1.0 is free.

    changelog from 1.2 :
    – Left-side menu support
    – Backup / Restore
    – Redesigned BB key menu
    – Large Font option Support for themes

  3. Hi. Yes you can load your applications. When configuring QuickLaunch the app you want to load in the list must first be running as it indicates in the ‘Add Applications’ choice list.

From then on you can just start the app from QL.
