The last time I mentioned an OS release here, you gave me flack because it was an official release and it wasn’t “new enough”. Heck, then take this: a very new and very unofficial release of OS version 4.6.1.144 for the Curve 8900. The novelty has just been announced at the CrackBerry forums and can be downloaded from here.

I can only wonder why so many releases in so little time since our friend Luis seems very happy with his brand new 8900. But I’m sure it’s for the best. And hey, it’s new! Did I mention how new it is?

Now go, go!

Our usual warnings apply: do not download and install these updates if you don’t know what you’re doing. Incorrect procedure or just bad luck could render your BlackBerry inoperative or unstable.

Hey I didn’t give you flack, because I thought it was great to know the official link. These Mega and RS links can be very flaky. Any official link is always very appreciated.

  6. Quick question.. if the .133 is alreadt offial, how come it can be down wireless throught the Options>advanced options>wireless upgrade option?? if anyone knows.. let me know.

    thanks.

    • Because your carrier has not made it offical. The .133 was released for Wind. Your carrier probably has not released it and probably won’t “support” your phone if you call in for support if they discover you have .133 on it.

Anyone try this yet? Thoughts on any improvements from 133?
