8330 OS Sprint Pre-Release Found Online

Boe let me know about a thread on CrackBerry forums with a link to OS for the 8330 CDMA Curve. This is not a beta but rather a pre-release according to the poster CodyBB so take care when installing it. According to Boe this update fixes the speaker blast that has been plaguing OS 4.5 devices.

Kudos to those that found it including PedrotheGoat, Sling, bdizzle1982 and follow the thread on CrackBerry Forums for more info.

Let us know what you find in the new OS versions in the comments below. Keep the tips coming!

NOTE: Do not install this software if you do not know what you are doing. It may make your BlackBerry FUBAR or just plain angry.

  1. this is boe aka bdizzel1982 from crackberry forums this is legit guys, the speaker phone blast seems to be gone i called my phone over 2 dozen times last night trying to get it to come back after installing and could not get it to do it so enjoy the new build that 1 2 Many has provided us with

  2. Hey, you can’t forget 1 2 many. He’s part of our group of testers as well. lol.

  3. I’m getting ready to download it now.

  4. Mine says upgrade not required and will not let me I removed the vendor file

  6. Anyone tried this on a VZW Curve?

  7. How about the 8130??

  8. SO, I just updated to .119, and I had to delete my vendor.xml file. Being that I have a Sprint Curve, do I have to copy the vendor file back before applying this update, or can I just do it?

  9. josh your the first person to say you have the speaker blast i personally called my phone over 2 dozen times and never had a problem and we have been testing this for almost 3 days now without any issues, did you do a clean load or did you just install over the top of your previous build??

  10. I downloaded it and I really can’t tell a difference… so far no speaker blast but it’s still too early to tell. I had no trouble downloading it- went very well on my Sprint 8330.

  11. What about the 8830 version?!? 🙁

  12. yea josh i would try and wipe your phone clean with jl cmdr and then do a fresh install im on day 2 with out a single speaker blast and everyone at the crackberry forums along with codybb,1 2 many, slingbox have all been using it for between 2-3 days as well with no issues what so ever

sorry tom no 8830 versions, im not sure there gonna develop one with a new world edition phone coming out fairly soon

  14. is awesome! sound blast is gone, memory cleaner runs faster, havent noticed any ram loss as of late, and is SOO reassuring that its an ACTUAL SPRINT os 4.5 , rather than the last 4 ive had. Thanx for the info berryreview!!

  15. curious, does this work on the 8320 (t-mobile)?

  16. ewps, nevermind. cdma. is there a 131 for the 8320?

  17. Anyone tried this for the Bell 8330?

  18. yeah, didn’t see the cdma part til it was too late. agreed, .124 is nice. where is 4.6? 🙂

  19. I have a Bell Mobility 8330 and this OS works fine… the speaker blast is indeed gone! (Finally)

  20. I have been running this os since 1/28 when it came out and the only problem I found is that after the screen goes dark it has a noticeable delay when re activating. For that reason I like better but that is the only thing I have found.
