Sorry guys I know you are probably as bored as me when it comes to patents and RIM. Sorry jongens ik weet dat je waarschijnlijk zo verveeld als ik als het gaat om octrooien en RIM. Turns out that RIM and quite a few other cell phone companies are yet again getting into the patent mess with a new contender. Blijkt dat RIM en heel wat andere mobiele telefoon bedrijven weer krijgen in het octrooi knoeien met een nieuwe contender. Saxon Innovations based out of Texas has put in a claim trying to bar RIM along with Palm and Nokia from importing cellphones into the US due to patent violations. Saxon Innovations uit Texas basis heeft in een claim proberen RIM bar samen met Palm en Nokia mobiele telefoons te importeren in de VS, vanwege patent schendingen. These are based on three patents that Saxon bought from AMD in 2007. Deze zijn gebaseerd op drie octrooien die Saksische gekocht van AMD in 2007.
According to InfoWorld these patents are: Volgens deze octrooien InfoWorld zijn:
- A keypad monitor patent was granted in August 1993 Een monitor toetsenbord octrooi werd verleend in augustus 1993
- Interrupt marks patent was granted in June 1996 Interrupt merken octrooi is verleend in juni 1996
- Mailbox patent was granted in March 1997 Mailbox octrooi is verleend maart 1997
They claim the 8100 from RIM violates two of these patents that I cannot understand. Ze beweren dat de 8100 van RIM schendt twee van deze octrooien die ik niet kan begrijpen. So once again we have a patent troll trying to claim violations on concepts they did not even develop. Dus nogmaals wij hebben een patent troll proberen om schendingen vordering op concepten ze niet eens te ontwikkelen. I wonder what they will think of next. Ik vraag me af wat ze zullen denken van de volgende.
