Developer: MyPoynt Cost: Free

Picture 1 Nikolaus let me know that MyPoynt has been updated to version 0.9.7 to add some compatibility with new BlackBerrys like the 8900 & 8220 according to Kate at MobileSyrup. Sadly nothing else seems to have changed and I did not notice anything else but let us know if you do find something.

In case you don’t remember MyPoynt is a free location based search application for your BlackBerry providing GPS yellow pages, movie info, and directions.

To pick it up OTA head over to m.mypoynt.com or get more info from your computer at this link

When I first tried Mypoint it only worked with Blackberry Maps which I don’t use. This version now allows you to set Google maps as your map source so that a good thing. Yes it’s pretty basic but I like it better than yellow pages and some of those others that put you through loops just to exit.

  2. I have v0.9.6 on my 8130 4.3 and when I try to upgrade
    v0.9.6 shows not v0.9.7

  3. They should use the google maps api for us verizon customers with crippled gps. (Yes, I know gps works with bb maps)
