It mostly works but is buggy as heck. It crashes my phone when I try to restart play after a mail chime or call stops it. I have to skip a song to get it to play again without rebooting my phone.

The other annoyance is that it takes like 40 seconds to shut it down.

I hope the can streamline the app and address the bugs soon. I was considering the paid service but not with this much weirdness. I might not bother with it again until the next version.

They must have copyright agreements with American companies and/or clauses that restrict “distribution” (broadcasting) of the content in other countries. They may eventually extend coverage to other countries or not, either way I’m sure it’s not entirely up to them. Most music in the world isn’t free, it’s owned by people and corporations that get to decide who is allowed to listen to it.

I have tried a zip code and(No Go) it knows your phone is from Canada.
I think it knows by your email info?
Hope some day it will work in the GREAT WHITE NORTH.:)

I’m sure that Canada will follow soon. Why would anyone target RIM customers and fail to include Canada? I wonder why they limit it by country. Nations are an abstraction that makes no sense on the Internet.

The caching feature is great. Overall the app works well but is laggy and a bit glitchy. Some cached songs end in mid song. It crashed my curve three times. It also seems difficult to get stations cached but I got it working. Still, its a great first effort. Hopefully the next point release will improve things.

For us poor Canadians we have to stick to Nobex Radio Companion (http://www.berryreview.com/2008/11/07/latest-nobex-radio-companion-adds-streaming-radio/) while it’s still free. On the bright side it’s only 174KB

Unfortunately, I have to report that this app is not currently available for the Storm.
When you go to http://www.slacker.com from the BB browser, it says that you can create an account and you will be notified when it is available. At least we know it is coming.

Works like a charm for me. Until Pandora decides to come out with a BlackBerry version, I’m all over Slacker for now.
P.S.: it does say it works only in the States…I’m glad someone confirmed that.
So now I have:
vRadio
Flycast
Slacker
All 3 are awesome although vRadio is for EDGE only, no HQ sound.

Awesome App!! I’ve been waiting for Pandora to release this a while back when I learned that they had an app for the iPhone. It essentially the same thing, personalized internet radio. I just got back from the gym listening to Slacker and it works great.

However, a few things i’d like to see in the next update:

- better response time… the application is a little laggy when scrolling through…

- have the mute button on blackberry to work when listening to slacker

- implement autoplay when a call comes in, the music stopped when i recieved a call, but after i was off the call, it didnt autoplay.

I know this is the first version, so i cant expect too much, just a couple suggestions!

Looks awesome but it only works in the USA not in CANADA.
Come on people when you post this stuff make sure you say its work in different countries!
I dont like downloading it to find out it doesn’t work after you sign up.
