HipVoice Bringing Cross Carrier Push To Talk To Companies For $10/month
Hudss let me know that HipVoice is planning on bringing a cross carrier push to talk system for BlackBerry very soon. It will not let you talk to a different carriers push to talk system but rather is a whole new client that you install on your phone. For $10 a month companies will be able to add unlimited push to talk service that can work between multiple carriers. I can see companies being interested in such a solution but it has practically no use for consumers unless it can communicate directly with other carriers push to talk solutions.
You can see a video of it in action below:
It will allow:
- UNICAST: Push-To-Talk one to one
- MULTICAST: Push-To-Talk one to many (Also to Walkie Talkies)
- CHANNEL: Push-To-Talk to anyone subscribed to the channel
- RICH MESSAGING: Text message users that are on or off-line
Carriers could learn something from HipVoice. I don’t use push to talk now since nobody else I know has it. On the other hand if it was cross carrier maybe I would…
