I mean, that's the whole reasoning Verizon has been using to lock out access to GPS is apps getting location and potentially disclosing it without the user knowing. This app when I ran it didn't ask (like some others I have run), so either it's smart enough to know I'm on Verizon and it won't get GPS access (so it used the location of the nearest cell tower automagically) OR it's exactly the sort of application Verizon tells us it is "protecting" us from!
