BeeJive Beta 1.1.1 – Hot New Features For OS 4.6

beejivebeta Tashanna let me know about a forum post on PinStack by Jim detailing a public beta of BeeJive 1.1.1. BeeJive is a very popular multi-service IM client for BlackBerry and this new beta adds some promising features in OS 4.6 devices like the Bold & 8900 Curve. I was waiting for a developer to start supporting the Message Box integration available in OS 4.6+. This lets applications put your IM’s in the Messages folder just like RIM’s native clients.

From their announcement:

This new beta fix addresses a bunch of bugs and includes better integration with the Messages Inbox. This is a minor release targeting the 4.6 OS. It features VGA images (for the Bold & 8900 Curve) and Message Inbox integration. There are no significant changes for OS’s below 4.6.

You can pick up the new beta at:

or OTA at: www.beejive.com/download?beta=true

NOTE: You will need to uninstall your current version of BeeJive for the beta to load.

Is this going to be free or is it just a trial?

  2. It appears to be a trial (I was asked if I wanted to get a trial key when I first started it).

I use gtalk and aim on my bold, both the native clients and they work fine. They put the messages in my inbox just where I want them. I tried beejive for 5 minutes, and I’ll be removing it shortly…. I don’t need all the additional im clients. Just gtalk and aim.

  3. BeeJive is not a free IM application.
It costs you $20 or $30, depends on which license you chose.

  4. i stopped using beejiveIM on my bold due to the battery drain when using 3G… anyluck with this?

  5. Hm, my battery holds 2 days. It doesn’t depend if I use GPRS, 3G.
Once I’m at home I enable WIFI.

2 days is not very nice and a little bit short. But it’s ok for me if I charge it over night or during the time in the office where I at my desk.

And I use IM on my BB only once I’m on the road and I want to talk so some people.

  6. this is the best IM client for blackbery so far. been using it since 07′ when i purchased my license

no complaints here, keep it up BeeJive Team

  7. Can’t wait for the Storm version. I have a paid sub and have not been able to use it since I upgraded from my Curve
