T-Mobile Does Away With Handset Upgrade Fees!
T-Mobile just let me know that as of Dec 17th 2008 they will no longer be charging a handset upgrade fee when you upgrade your phone. Yeehaw! Whenever I upgrade my phone I always get mad when my carrier throws in another $35 just for the honor of getting my phone upgraded. All the regulatory recovery fees and surcharges on my bill are bad enough without adding insult to injury.
T-Mobile has eliminated their $18 upgrade fee across the board on all phones online and in stores. This is not a promotion and there is no end date specified for it. Hopefully all the other carriers will join in on this trend.
