How come I cannot download from the link? both the megaupload or the rapidshare? Anyone has another link?

Don’t need to delete Vendor.xml file any more. Bold firmware handles the vendor information.

k after some uninstalling, installing and repairing, still doesn’t work. But for some reason i left the vendor the way it is and installed it, it asked me to update. Finally worked!

Hi Jimmie, Give this path a try – C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader, I’ve not needed to remove the vendor file for sometime, so it will be either as above or under the actual firmware path C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader\Shared\{firmware folder}, if both rename the the xmlfile under the Firmware folder and restart the Desktop Manager. The installation of the firmware needs to be done after the install of the Desktop Manager, all that is needed is to run the firmware file, the installer will extract to the correct path.

How do i manually install the 4.6.0.214 firmware i just recently purchased my Bold from AT&T monday and im running on 4.6.0.167 and platform 4.0.0.157

It’s ok now …
I reinstall this .124 and I connect my Bold without deleting vendor file and everything work fine.
I don’t know why …
Maybe because when I install .210 I forget to delete this vendor file ?

Ok, I’ll give out what I noticed in this version.
First of all the fonts are good. No messes.
2- Speed: The phone is a lot more responsive than the other versions, yes more than .210 The phone takes less than 5 sec to get up to speed where as the older versions .210 and older would take around 10-15 sec.
3- Picture viewing: Very snappy if I do say so myself. I have folders that contain over 200 pictures and god…it loads so much faster than the previous versions
4- This one’s an oldie but I didn’t hear it mentioned before. RIM included an OTA upgrade…for reals…I’ll let you BBB DieHard fans find where it is…hehehe
5- Battery: Sorry but I use my phone to tether most of the time so I can’t give any feedback on that yet.

It’s not working using “application loader”
I have on the list 4.6.0.214 but after I selected, the next message appear “no software update is required for your device” …

Try to do it manually, through the application loader, update software. Do that after you install the .214 and uninstall the older version. That should do it.

Not sure if this has to do with the os but att navigator has updated with icons and text that are a readable size now for the bold.
