I bought a new BB Storm from Verizon and was expecting to be able to seamlessly sync mail, contacts tasks and notes between our companies Exchange 2003 server and the BlackBerry.

I first tried the BlackBerry Internet Service and found that only forwards new messages coming into the inbox after the fact (as much as a 20 minute delay). It doesn't forward other incoming mail items and doesn't sync ANYTHING (Calendar, Contacts, nothing).

I then tried AstraSync 2.1 and found it to be an acceptable alternative. AstraSync will actually synchronize Calendar and Contacts into the BlackBerry's native applications. However, it syncs e-mail to it's own application (due to RIM legal issues), which is a bit too simplistic.

Ok...I tried this on my Verizon 8830. It did connect to my Exchange server but is not useful for me as it continually gave me "certificate" confirmations every few seconds and because of that was a pain to fully use. To be fair, I think it is my IT dept.'s problem and the hacked up way that they installed Exchange 2003, BUT it still will not be useful to me in the long run because of this.

Still, it may work for some, and it did synch transfer information back and forth even with my cert issues, so you may want to give it a look.

Oh, this is just awesome. Windows users have so much support from RIM to synchronize their data already that they definitely need some more.
