What you describe sounds like a temporarily slow connection. Try again later. I just checked the link and had no problem obtaining the software.

I just contacted AT&T regarding the OS update for the 8300. I was told "the 8300 release would be by the end of the month but did not have an exact date". This came from an email the support tech had received. His comment was that it was not 'official' but often very accurate.

I too am very frustrated waiting for the update on my 8300.

Thank you so much Nick for the info, I followed your information and downloaded the OS from AT&T and it went so smooth. Have not had a problem at all. Again, many thanks for such a quick response.

OMG, I thought this day would never come... this better be one very sweet build of the OS, because it took long enough!

Does this really mean no 4.5 for the 8300??? That doesn't seem right... I'm guessing the 8300 is last on the list as I've noticed the newer models first got the update... Anyone confirm?

If you are with AT&T then you shouldn't have to edit the OS to install. If you are with another carrier you will have to remove the Vendor.xml file with CrackMem 3.1. You should download Desktop Manager 4.6 which you can get from AT&T's site or from Blackberry.com
