The guys at Usablenet just let me know that they have helped Sears mobilize their online store so that you can now shop from your BlackBerry browser. The new mobile version of the Sears website is pretty powerful and offers a good selection. It also allows you to ship the items to your house or pick them up from their store. If you chose to pick up the item you will get a text message when it is available for pickup.
From the mobile site you can:
- Search products
- Browse the catalog
- Check out gifts
- Product reviews
- Store locator
- & Order status
Check it out for yourself at www.sears2go.com and let us know what you think! I really like this trend of mobilizing popular online stores. Hopefully Newegg is next…

Yeah I am liking this new trend of online shops supporting a low-fi version of their site.

Makes comparison shopping far easier too! Much easier to look up something at Sears now while I’m at Target or Home Depot or Macy’s or elsewhere and see if Sears has a better deal for me!
