Rogers Officially Releases OS For Bold

boldupdate I just got an email from Rogers (since I am using their device unlocked) that they released a new upgrade for my BlackBerry. When I went to their site I found OS not the latest Still better than the launch OS version! If you are a stickler for the official OS versions check it out at this link:

Below is the email I got from them. Thanks to Adam for also sending this one in! The funny part is that he is also using it unlocked on AT&T in Florida. I guess they are blasting out the message based on PIN or IMEI numbers…

  1. This release was already available at Rogers/Rim download page at least from October 10th;jsessionid=p7Bw13E8bJR4v33A8ycQVA**

  2. I thought all OS 4.5 and up had on device OS upgrade??? What version do you get told when you do that?

  3. the message was sent via PIN

  4. Lol, what the hell…not like I care considering I’m already running a later OS then what they offer, but I am a Rogers customer and didn’t even get that message. lol

  5. And oh yeah, they are def late getting that out there..unless of course they are only flagging accnts that don’t look like they have already upgraded, which is quite possible.

  6. Does anyone know what version of Blackberry Enterprise server is required to support this latest release? I can’t find out from rogers…

  7. @Spleenman
Most of the later releases do not really require a different version of BES to support them. They should run on older BES versions but the BES may not have all the options to lock them down. Like they may not have the ability to lock down the newer features like video cameras.
