Free and Premium Themes from Kristy

Since opening up the direct email for theme designers, we’ve already gotten quite a few submissions. What is particularly nice is that I get to see so many theme sites that I had not yet come across. For example, Kristy, a theme designer, has her own blogspot/website where she has free and premium themes available. One of her free themes, ‘Star Custom Today’, was created for the 8300 series with OS 4.2 & 4.5 and looks really great on screen. The colors and graphics are very crisp and vivid and I like the font she used. I might have liked different icons with this theme, but in general this is a nice one. What’s really neat is the home screen and how the icons are placed on the 4 corners and the ‘today’ info is in the middle. Nice job, Kristy!

  1. Not bad for a beginner. Some of the images could be a little crisper and the dialog buttons could be centered properly so that they dont have flat bottoms.

  2. Unfortunately, you have to register on blacklightthemes to download this theme, and it’s almost impossible to find the OTA link from the Blackberry on that site. I still haven’t found it. The link on Riya’s webpage doesn’t take you straight to the download.

  3. I’ve checked with Akakios, and you don’t have to be a member to get the OTA, he’s got me set up specially so you don’t have to be a member, to download.. And the OTA’s are listed as ‘OTA 4.5′ and such, at each post. I’m sorry you’ve had problems.
