FAQ: RIM Explains The Different Levels Of Content Protection

Have you ever turned on content protection on your BlackBerry? Ever wondered what the different levels, Strong/Stronger/Strongest, mean to you? I have so I was happy to finally see RIM explain them out. Turns out that they are different encryption strengths based on the table below:
| Content protection setting | Encryption strength |
| Strong | 80 bits |
| Stronger | 128 bits |
| Strongest | 256 bits |
One more vague setting on the BlackBerry explained.

Hmm…I’ve never set it any higher than Strong. I wonder what (if?) performance penalty there might be from using higher encryption?
Probably significant. It has to work that much harder…
