Ian let me know about yet another AT&T BlackBerry Bold Launch party that was not listed on the sales rep training web page we saw before. Turns out that once again RIM is holding a launch event in Manhattan for their latest BlackBerry device. Previous launch events were usually in either NYC or and another city so this fits the mold. The NYC one this time is happening on October 16th so all signs point to a late October early November release. Crossing our fingers…
So who is invited?

I was invited, and attended the event last night in NYC. Michael Phelps and his trainer Bob Bowman were the surprise guests. Then Delta Goodrem played a few songs with her band. It was a fun event…

How long did you wait in line Karim?

Waited in line for an hour and a half. From 7pm till 8:30pm.
I have to admit that the previous launch party I attended in Soho in February of 2007 was much better organized than this one. The wait in line was just minutes, and the venue was a lot bigger than Gotham Hall. On the other hand, the food and drinks were good. Also, they offered appetizers for everyone waiting in line.

Yeah the 8800 launch was 10 times better in terms of space and signing people in… Not sure why the hell it took them so long…

Ronen, do you have any idea when they might actually launch the bold? I read online that AT&T’s infrastructure isn’t ready for the 3G network. They’re upgrading their towers at the moment, and the project should be done by end of October… So the Bold’s release could be sometime around early November.
