Storm & 8220 Flip Keep Leaking Like A Sieve…

This is really starting to get out of hand. It used to be that we would hear a juicy leaked tidbit a week if we were lucky. For the past few months there have been multiple leaks/rumors in one day. For the sake of brevity I will combine the last 24 hours into one post. :) Even I am finding it hard to keep track of them all…

BlackBerry Cool managed to dig up some speculative pricing for the T-Mobile BlackBerry 8220 Flip Pearl from two forums.

  • New Activation 2 Year Contract $149.99 (after $50 MIR)
  • New Activation 1 Year Contract $199.99 (after $50 MIR)
  • Full Upgrade 2 Year Contract $167.99 (after $50 MIR)
  • Full Upgrade 1 Year Contract $217.99 (after $50 MIR)
  • Partial Upgrade: TBD
  • Retail Price: $349.99

I wonder what happened to the $49.99 price point we were hearing rumored before… With the way things are going with the Bold expect to see the AT&T 8220 sometime in early 2012. Thomas @ BerryReporter has also managed to catch another screen of the internal Best Buy system showing a ridiculous retail price of $679.99 for the 8220… These are crazy times.

Kevin @ CrackBerry & Michael @ TBGR found a slick video presentation of the BlackBerry Storm on Vodaphone that you can see below. It has some great shots of the media player and GUI. He also managed to score Verizons weekly “Talk Up A Storm” newsletter that shows off the Storm.

We all used to laugh at how long it took Verizon to launch a new berry. Touche ATT, you MIGHT just manage to get the Bold launched within a year of its official announcement!
