VZ Navigator 4.1 Released

Tim let me know that Verizon has released version 4.1 of their VZ Navigator software. It seems to fix a bit of the image issues on the Curve but other than that I could not find any other record of changes. You may need to uninstall the previous version to install this version. You can pick up the latest version by going to http://start.vzw.com/ and clicking on the VZ Nav icon.

I think this may be via VZWforums

  1. I believe that this version adds traffic. I had seen reports on other forums that this update disabled the ability to use VZ Navigator for FREE with a Bluetooth GPS puck, but I have verified that this is not the case — you simply need to turn Location On (as opposed to 911 Only) within the device GPS Options. That being said, I have opted for a standalone GPS device (TomTom GO 920) as opposed to using the limited capabilities of the various navigation apps for the BlackBerry — too much contention between Bluetooth puck and Bluetooth car kit/headset, losing cellular coverage in the middle of nowhere (right when you need navigation the most), etc.
