MTN South Africa Releases Older OS 4.5 for Multiple Devices

MTN_logo_Small MTN South Africa have approved Handheld Version 4.5 for multiple devices they support on their network. Granted the code version they have opted for so far is an older code release which we have seen come and go on the WWW, nevertheless it is a step forward for the support of numerous model’s, more than I have seen elsewhere right now.

They have formally updated their blackberry.com firmware page with RIM which you can find here.

The list of devices include the following, which as you will notice includes the 8700:

  • BlackBerry® Curve (TM) 8310 smartphon
  • BlackBerry® Curve (TM) 8320 smartphone
  • BlackBerry® Pearl (TM) 8110 smartphone
  • BlackBerry® Pearl (TM) 8120 smartphone
  • BlackBerry® 8820 smartphone
  • BlackBerry® 8800 smartphone
  • BlackBerry® 8700 smartphone

The firmware version they have opted for at this time:

  • Package Version: 4.5.0.52
  • Applications: 4.5.0.37
  • Software Platform: 2.7.0.55

  1. OMG why are they using such old builds of 4.5?? We are reviewing between builds .69-.81 on Berry Review, and these fellas are deploying .37!!
