Alaska- ACS to Offer BlackBerry Devices

image If you live in Alaska, you will be happy to know that Alaska’s fastest mobile network, Alaska Communication System, announced that they have begun carrying 3 BlackBerry Devices as of September 15. You will now be able to pick up an 8830 World Edition, a Curve 8330 and of course a Pearl 8130. As of the time this article was written, it looks like the only device currently available is the Curve 8330, the 8830 World Edition is available for pre-order, and the Pearl 8130 is “coming soon”

ACS provides Alaska’s only 3G network (CDMA EVDO), so if your an Alaskan with a demand for mobile speed, head on over to ACSAlaska.com or your nearest retailer and pick one up!

This leads me to wonder if, Alaska Governor & Vice Presidential Nominee, Sarah Palin, will be upgrading her wireless network

Some Details From ACSAlaska.com:

What do you get when you combine ACS and a BlackBerry® Smartphone?

More speed, more power and the envy of others.

Witness your BlackBerry smartphone performing on the ACS network. You’ll see the difference right away. You’ll get all the benefits of a BlackBerry smartphone – with the blazing fast speed of ACS. That’s because ACS has the fastest network – period.

So even though your BlackBerry smartphone looks just like the other guys’, with ACS you’ll leave the other guys in the dust.

Get the best of both worlds.

  1. oh the perks of being McCain’s running mate… Blackberrys for an unpopulated state from the inventor!

  2. Well said Oakie!! :)

I personally thought the 8350i would make it here, but I guess ACS doesn’t have an iDEN network then. 8350i would be great for Palin to “keep in touch” with those Russian neighbors, the caribou, and Rove.
