BlackBerry Dubbed The "Official Smartphone Of Ticketmaster"
This came out during CTIA but somehow I missed it. Looks like RIM has teamed up with Ticketmaster to allow for mobile access to the site. The funniest part is that the BlackBerry has been announced as the “Official Smartphone Of Ticketmaster” what were these guys smoking when they came up with that idea.
All jokes aside there seems to be three stages in the partnership:
- BlackBerry users will be able to browse, search, and purchase tickets to live entertainment while on the go.
- Ticketmaster and RIM are developing an exclusive software application that allows BlackBerry users untethered access to browse and purchase tickets to the hottest shows, games and exhibits available on Ticketmaster.com
- With this agreement, Ticketmaster moves beyond the physical ticket to providing wireless, fan-friendly convenience with BlackBerry.
In short they will let you buy tickets from your Berry. Then they will give you an app to accomplish that faster, and at some point in time you will be able to use your Berry as a ticket to shows…
