The time has come! Together with Viigo we have managed to bring you a BerryReview branded version of the Project Tango. The best part is that instead of the extremely tacky “Top Secret” in the title bar you can now sport the logo for your favorite site!
You can pick up the latest BerryReview Viigo Project Tango Edition at:
Desktop Install | BlackBerry OTA Install
New features in this release include:
- Improved memory & overall performance
- Added the ability to customize the home screen channels
- Better error and timeout correction
- New progress bars instead of the spinning circle let you know what is downloading
- They have fixed the default menu options (This includes the “Mark all as read” option!!!)
Sadly this release does not include audio support but that is coming soon with the full release. There has also been a slight case of file bloat with the new install clocking in at ~750Kb but the application seems to be much more responsive. This is still a beta so it does not have the refinement of a full release (That includes you Tom) but check out the cool new features below:
Flights & Travel – Search for flights by route or by flight number, do quick flight status lookups, or build itineraries that will allow Viigo to track the status of these flights automatically.
Enhanced Sports Channel – We have made a number of improvements to the sports service, including a new multi-select sports channel library, and the ability for the application to group multiple feeds for each sport together (i.e. scores, standings, etc.). We have also added new sports, including NCAA football, and have more to come (including English Premiership) in the next few days. We are working on more enhancements here for future releases, including the ability to sort sport scores according to your date preference.
Enhanced Elections Channel – We have added a number of polls to the US Elections service , including Senate and Governor races, and have added coverage too for eh upcoming Canadian election.
Stocks and Finance – We have added a number of sector portfolios for those of you who want to keep track of the leading industries in each sector. We have also added a currency exchange rate service, so you can keep track of current rates for the location you’re heading to next.
Kijiji Classifieds – Access to the full Kijiji classifieds service. Select your city, select from the list of categories, and enter your search term and we’ll keep a list of matching results up to date for you. You can find this under Local Interest.
You can pick up the latest BerryReview Viigo Project Tango Edition at:
Desktop Install | BlackBerry OTA Install
As an FYI you can still pick up the older version of BerryReview Viigo Edition OTA at this link or from your desktop at this link. Some people just like the older version.

Hey Ronen…does BerryReview get something out of this branded version? I ask because all the Blackberry blogs seem to have their own branded version of this new release. If I were to pick one over the other over just the “plain” version, does the site get anything?

Crashes and burns on the Bold. Went back to the old version.

installs and seems to work great on a curve 8330 with 4.5.0.77. Much better performance out of the app. Impressed so far

Strange – this version didn’t seem to work but when I downloaded the latest beta directly from viigo’s site, it works fine on the bold. Probably something going on with my bold. Sorry for the false alarm.

Adam, are you locating and installing the latest Bold OS versions as they are reported? That may help. I’ve read numerous people having issues with various apps on the 4.6 OS

I want to know hoq to get back to an older version. The most recent (generic, not a branded beta) repeatedly crashes on my 4.2.2.196 8830.
