You do know you can leave the shortcut to GMail on the desktop if you want to right? That’s what I did. I hid the others but left GMail and I still get my notifications.

This is just the first release, I’m sure it will be tweaked and improved with time. By using the Menu button you can specify what shortcuts to show across the top but I agree it would be nice if it had two rows.

I have some big problems with this now that I’ve had it a bit longer. For one thing, there is no visual indicator that a new e-mail for Gmail has arrived. I used to see the Gmail icon change, but that does not happen in this Google Mobile App. 2nd, only 4 items? There is plenty of room for 2 rows of 4. Placing in order of last used rather than fixed position would also be a good option to offer. 3rd, the home screen icon for this is really bad. Most BB developers have realized that a square home screen icon is a bad idea since highlight is backlighting. The icons for Gmaps and Gmail were really good, so why should this one be so not? I hope this app gets better next version…

Just hide the other shortucts if you don’t need them, This new app is just a bridge between the other apps it does not replace all of them just the Google Updater and I Think Google Search.

1) Can anyone clarify what under Options they mean by “Use Google Apps Domain: No/Yes? The default value is “No”, and you can free type a Domain Name.

2) What do I do with the existing home screen icons I have for Gmaps, Gmail, and Gnews? Should I just hide them in a folder, since I only need the Google Mobile Apps icon on the homescreen now, or can I uninstall them without loose the apps themselves?

I love it so far, replaces a lot of other icons on my desktop with just one. I also agree that Google Updater was rather useless
