One of our secret agents sent us a link to an AMAZING reference guide that shows exactly what HTML is supported by each version of the BlackBerry OS. This goes from OS 3.X to 4.6 and is the best guide I have seen so far. If you were planning on creating a website that looks good in the BlackBerry browser then this is the guide for you. It will tell you which OS supports which HTML tags and the level of support provided. Talk about an invaluable resource for developers looking to mobilize a website!!! You can see some samples below:
The guide can be found at this link and is quite extensive with over 108 pages of content. I still can’t understand why RIM does not publicize this information to help developers create BlackBerry compatible websites. This does seem to be beta documentation so it may no be 100% up to date.

RIM can be such an @ss sometimes. Why is that document a secret? It’s this kind of attitude that makes something like Android seem so interesting.

Did you notice that it was “Beta”? Perhaps that’s why it’s not widely available yet. Dumb ass.

I know i’m a few months behind here but does anyone ever do any research on their own? You must have searched this site or at least Google to arrive a this page. Why not search BlackBerry’s site? I entered “Browser” in their search bar, clicked on the first result, and found a page with links to these:
BlackBerry Browser – Fundamentals Guide 4.6.0 PDF
BlackBerry Browser – CSS Reference 4.6.0 PDF
BlackBerry Browser – HTML Reference 4.6.0 PDF
BlackBerry Browser – JavaScript Reference 4.6.0 PDF
BlackBerry Browser – Content Design Guidelines 4.6.0 PDF

Shame on the author for not doing their own homework.

Ian,
You DO realize that we posted this article back in September before RIM officially released this information on their website…
