Mobile Admin 4.1 to be Released on September 16, 2008

On September 16, 2008, Mobile Admin 4.1 will introduce significant enhancements to further unify and simplify IT management. We’re extending the platform’s capabilities to allow you to manage all your servers, including Windows and UNIX, as well as routers and switches, from one simple interface.

Just imagine: a complete, mobile, enterprise-ready network administration solution accessible from any computer and most handheld devices*.

Feature Highlights of Mobile Admin 4.1

  • SSH and Telnet Integration:
Create SSH and Telnet connections to manage a wide range of network systems and devices, including UNIX, Linux and AS/400 servers.
  • RDP and VNC Integration:
Create remote connections to Windows servers and graphically administrate your server and desktop applications.
  • Shortcuts to Common Tasks:
Catalog and access frequently used network administration tasks.

NOTE:

Beginning on September 16, 2008, Rove’s Mobile SSH and Mobile Desktop applications will be integrated into Mobile Admin, the company’s flagship product. Mobile Admin is a complete enterprise solution that enables the unified administration of all servers, including Windows and UNIX, as well as routers and switches. As of September 16, 2008, Mobile SSH and Mobile Desktop will no longer be available for trial or purchase as stand-alone applications.

If you already own licenses of either Mobile SSH or Mobile Desktop, get ready to benefit from the upcoming integration. Starting on September 16, 2008, you will be able to:

  • Upgrade to Mobile Admin 4.1 at a discounted price.
  • Enjoy full network administration capabilities from one simple interface.

I am not sure how this is going to work out since Mobile SSH is currently going for about $95 and Mobile Admin is going for about $495. This might put Mobile SSH way out of the price range of most personal users.

  1. I think this is a pretty dumb idea. I use Mobile SSH every day and at $95 it was already steep. Look at the ssh client prices for iphone….we are talking about $5. Now that we are looking at $500 most companies will not think of this as a legitimate expenditure. dumb rove, dumb
